We are currently looking for a:

Research Intern

Citizens for Tax Justice (CTJ) and the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP) are seeking an intern to provide research support during the Fall of 2014. Applicants should be highly motivated, energetic graduate or undergraduate students seeking an opportunity to make a difference in a progressive environment. Basic requirements for the position include solid research and writing skills, as well as an interest in learning about tax and fiscal policy. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel is required and some knowledge of basic accounting principles and corporate taxes is ideal, but not required. 

About the Position:

The intern’s primary responsibility will be to conduct substantive policy research. More specifically, the intern’s responsibilities will include:

-Conducting research to be used in CTJ and ITEP corporate tax reports, testimony, and other publications.

-Writing about major developments and trends in state and federal tax policy for CTJ’s Tax Justice Blog.

-Participating in staff meetings and activities.

The position is full-time or part time and is paid based on experience level. The internship lasts approximately three months, and can be designed to work around the applicant’s academic schedule.

CTJ is a 501(c)(4) organization that advocates progressive tax policies with a focus on federal legislative issues. ITEP is the corresponding 501(c)(3) organization researching tax fairness issues.
